Ajou University Scholarships

Benefits of Hallym University Scholarship:

  • Students who are enrolled full-time and which are hired as research assistants or teaching assistants. Both positions offer a 100% tuition fee waiver as part of their employment benefits.
  • For students enrolled in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, If you become a Teaching Assistant (T.A-A) or a Research Assistant (R.A-A), you will receive a 100% tuition fee waiver.

  • For students in the Departments of Natural Sciences, Physical Education, and Nursing Science, the tuition fee is 5,353,000KRW. As a T.A-A or R.A-A, you will also receive a 100% tuition fee waiver, and no tuition fees will be required. 

  • In the Engineering Department, the tuition fee is 6,001,000KRW. T.A-A and R.A-A positions offer a 100% tuition fee waiver, meaning you won’t have to pay any tuition fees. 

  • For students studying Medicine, the tuition fee is 7,280,000KRW. T.A-A and R.A-A positions come with a 100% tuition fee waiver, so no tuition fees are required. 

  • If full-time students are not eligible for the Teaching Assistant (T.A.) or Research Assistant (R.A.) positions, they can apply for Scholarship A by submitting a document related to non-employment (Certificate of 4 Major Social Insurance). The selection criteria for Scholarship A is a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.5 scale from their most recent degree.

  • Furthermore, students who are employed at one of the Ilsong Educational Foundation affiliated institutions are eligible to apply for the cooperation scholarship, which provides a 50% reduction in tuition fees.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible, international candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Individuals whose parents hold foreign citizenship.
  2. Individuals who have completed their entire primary, secondary, and tertiary education either within or outside of Korea.
  3. Korean dual citizenship holders are exempted from being classified as foreigners.

Academic requirements for different programs are as follows:

A. Master Degree Program / Integrated Master and PhD Program Applicants:

  1. Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree.
  2. Applicants who are expected to complete their bachelor’s degree by the end of August 2023 are eligible.
  3. Individuals recognized by Korean law as having an academic qualification equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or higher are also eligible.

B. Ph.D. Program Applicants:

  1. Applicants must hold a master’s degree.
  2. Applicants who are anticipated to obtain their master’s degree by the end of August 2023 are eligible.
  3. Individuals recognized by Korean law as having an academic experience equivalent to a master’s degree or higher, or possessing the necessary entitlement, are also eligible.

How to Apply:

To apply for consideration, please follow these steps:

  1. Apply to the Uway online application system to submit your application.

  2. Make the online payment for the application fee as instructed by the university. Follow the provided guidelines to ensure a successful transaction.

  3. After submitting the online application, print a copy of your documents. Gather all supporting documents required by the university, such as transcripts, recommendation letters, and any additional materials specified.

  4. Send the printed application and supporting documents to the designated Hallym address. The university will provide the specific address for mailing. Follow any additional instructions or guidelines provided.

  5. Ensure that Hallym University receives your application before the specified application window closes. Take note of the provided deadlines and submit your application in a timely manner.
