General admission criteria

Academic and degree requirements

  • Undergraduate applicants and their parents must meet the international nationality rules. Korean dual nationality is excluded under this route. Read the guide for nationality-loss and special family cases.
  • Freshmen need recognized high-school completion. Transfers need qualifying college graduation or the required university study and credits. The guide excludes GED, homeschooling and cyber-school qualifications for this route.
  • The General Graduate School has a foreign-nationality route and a separate full-overseas-education route. Confirm the previous degree and documents for your department.

Language requirements

  • Most undergraduate Korean tracks list TOPIK level 3 or an approved alternative. The humanities-, science- and AI-based interdisciplinary divisions list TOPIK level 6 or specified equivalents.
  • Eligible English tracks list IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT or New TEPS alternatives. Check the score scale and any qualifying English-medium education or nationality route.
  • Check the graduate guide for department-specific language requirements. Undergraduate Korean-track entrants may also need Korean study after enrollment.
