Kyung-In Women’s University

Kyung-In Women’s University (KIWU) is a women’s vocational higher-education institution in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. Its March 2027 international guide offers two- and three-year programs across welfare, health administration, design, computing, tourism, business, beauty and care services. Selected departments also identify bachelor-completion, GKS or English-track opportunities, each with its own conditions. The college classification is retained in this directory despite the English University name; a program label does not establish postgraduate recruitment.

Degree levels: Associate degree, Bachelor’s.

Current degree-route checklist

  • Application, personal statement, financial-support affidavit, privacy consent and pledge using the current forms. The portal’s form numbering differs from the guide; match the document title and current application instructions. The care-worker route also requires its pre-enrollment acknowledgment.
  • Notarized high-school graduation/expected-graduation evidence and original complete high-school transcript. The sole-foreign-national route also needs elementary/middle/high transcripts and original/notarized graduation evidence. University records cannot replace the required high-school records in this checklist.
  • Apostille or applicable Korean consular authentication; accepted Chinese academic verification has separate general/vocational-school provisions. Non-English foreign-language documents need notarized Korean translation. Overseas applicants prepare duplicate academic/financial sets for university and embassy as instructed.
  • Applicant/parent passport or Korean residence-card copies, official family relationship evidence and any additional nationality-loss/family records. Korean language trainees provide attendance and transcript records; supply applicable Korean or English scores and three 3×4cm photographs.
  • Post-admission bank evidence: overseas residents KRW 20 million in applicant/parent name; Korea-based status-change applicants KRW 10 million from a Korean bank in the applicant’s own name. The guide marks GKS exempt. Obtain the issue-date, validity and sponsor rules before ordering certificates; the older standing pages’ USD thresholds/six-month wording are not substituted as current requirements.
  • Pay the applicable KRW 50,000 fee through the current university instructions. Additional records can be requested. The institution—not this directory—determines document sufficiency and individual visa eligibility.

The GKS column marks Digital Media Design, Fashion Design, Hotel & Tourism Management, Beauty, Global International Trade, Airline Services, Global Korean Studies and Global Care Services. This identifies potential participating departments, not a currently open scholarship call. The guide says GKS dates and details will be announced separately. Nursing and other professional departments visible in the general university navigation are not added to this specific international recruitment matrix.

General admission criteria

Nationality, education, language and assessment

  • The international degree overview describes female foreign applicants with high-school completion or higher. Confirm your exact department’s admission category; the language program separately discusses male housing and does not establish male eligibility for these women’s degree routes.
  • One route requires applicant and parents to be foreign nationals with completed equivalent primary-secondary education in Korea or abroad. Loss/renunciation of Korean nationality needs evidence; a legally recognized one-parent family has a specific nationality rule. A second route covers foreign applicants who completed the entire equivalent school curriculum outside Korea. Korean dual nationals do not qualify as foreign applicants.
  • The current 2027 normal-track guide accepts TOPIK 2+ or equivalent; KIIP level 2 or pre-assessment 41+; King Sejong Beginner 2+; or at least six months of Korean university language training with level 3 completion. An interview-based language assessment is another stated route. Graduation requires language competence equivalent to TOPIK 3.
  • For the specifically marked English track: TOEFL PBT 530; TOEFL iBT 59 or new-scale 3.5; IELTS 5.5; New TEPS 202; or CEFR B2. Do not apply this waiver/track to unmarked departments. An English medium-of-instruction letter is not established as a general substitute.
  • Admission selection is interview 100%. Failure to attend or a score below 70 prevents admission. Separate international-class and English-track minimum enrollment rules still apply after academic eligibility.
  • The undated standing document page uses TOPIK 3 and higher KIIP thresholds; the current 2027 guide has different accepted alternatives.
  • This profile follows the dated guide and discloses the discrepancy.
  • Ask the office to confirm the actual route in writing instead of combining the strictest or easiest pieces from different versions.

Tuition fees and study costs

2026 tuition references, quoted per semester

Departments in the 2027 guide’s reference tableKRW per semester
Social Welfare; Tourism & Foreign Languages; Global International Trade; Taxation & Accounting; Global Korean Studies; Global Care Services3,214,000
Hotel & Tourism Management; Airline Services3,305,000
Food Nutrition3,697,000
Health Information & Administration; Bioenvironmental Science; Computer Software3,793,000
Fashion Design; Hotel Culinary & Bakery Arts3,815,000
Beauty3,865,500
Sports Rehabilitation; Sports & Health Care; Digital Media Design; Video Broadcasting3,981,500

These are explicitly 2026 reference fees per semester, subject to departmental differences and 2027 revision. They are not a final 2027 invoice. The standing international overview uses broader category figures that differ from some guide rows; the dated intake guide’s department-specific table is used here. Application fee is KRW 50,000 for the ordinary/caregiver route; the guide marks GKS applicants exempt. Housing, insurance, meals, travel and document authentication add costs. Request the gross tuition, award, one-time charges and net invoice before paying.

Scholarships and support

Scholarship example and award conditions

Humanities example in the guideGross tuition / actual payable, KRW
First semester3,214,000 / 800,000
Second, third and fourth semesters, each2,980,000 / 2,569,300
Four-semester example total12,154,000 / 8,507,900

The example labels its overall scholarship rate 30%. The first-semester reduction is concentrated differently from later terms; it is not a flat 30% discount to apply again to the printed net amounts. The four-semester example is not a full-cost quotation for a three-year department, and the gross reference rates and department invoice can differ. Confirm eligibility, selection, academic/attendance requirements, renewal and combination rules with International Education; these are not fully specified in the example. Students attaining TOPIK level 3 or above after admission receive a one-time KRW 300,000 award under the stated policy. No universal living stipend or fully funded status is assigned.

GKS has a separate government selection, call and funding conditions. An entry in the participating-department column does not confirm an award or eligibility for a particular nationality/track. Ordinary tuition support, the TOPIK achievement award and GKS must not be summed into an invented package.

How to apply

Application steps

  1. Read the March 2027 English guide and Korean guide, then confirm department, language track, nationality route and current award with International Education.
  2. Use the official foreign-student application portal and choose one department. Check names and contact details before final submission and fee payment.
  3. Deliver required authenticated documents by registered mail, courier or in person to International Education by the separate arrival cutoff; confirm receipt.
  4. Attend the assigned interview and check the portal’s individual result. Verify the tuition/scholarship invoice and pay only through the institution-provided instructions during the window.
  5. The admission certificate follows passed document/interview screening and full tuition payment. Complete embassy/immigration requirements and mandatory insurance; confirm housing before travel. The guide restricts subsequent application/enrollment elsewhere after payment and certificate issuance, so review that condition before accepting.

Housing and campus life

Campus and living arrangements

The 2027 guide quotes female shared-type single accommodation at KRW 1,890,000, payable once or in two KRW 945,000 installments. Its printed table does not establish a clear billing duration, so obtain the exact contract period, utilities/deposit and refund terms. Meals are not provided; a communal kitchen is available. Access is restricted 01:00–05:00, approved overnight absence is required and weekly 20:00 roll call applies. Application/payment confirmation is separate from degree admission; no room is guaranteed.

The standing language-program housing page describes older two-person rooms at KRW 300,000 monthly and an initial six-month contract. This is a different room/source scope and must not replace the 2027 guide’s accommodation quote. Male language students are advised separately; do not treat this as degree housing entitlement.
